Monterey Bay Aquarium
The Monterey Bay Aquarium (MBA) was founded in 1984 and sits along historic sardine cannery on Cannery Row. Centrally located around many other activities, entertainment and dining.
This world-class attraction, with over 6,000 species on display, receives around 2 million visitors annually.
Marine life on exhibit lives in fresh ocean water brought in through the aquarium’s pipes leading directly into the Pacific Ocean. The multi-level facilities showcase native species of the Monterey Bay including sea-otters, sharks, stingrays, bluefin & yellowfin tuna, kelp, and many more. The Monterey Bay Aquarium is more than an exhibit of marine life directed to the public; it also makes strong efforts in preservation of local ocean waters and creating environmental awareness.
